The Greenpeace Polar bears are the biggest hand made props I have made to date. Over the past 2 years I have created 102 Polar bear heads for Greenpeace for their international Save the Arctic campaign, each one meticulously created by hand. Sculpting a clay Polar bear face that was then moulded in fibreglass and finally vacuum formed in black plastic created the initial head base. Each head was set on an adjustable purpose built helmet that was then covered in fur. The fur cover was pattern cut to a perfect fit, glued to the face and groomed by hand. The final polar bear is brought to life by hand drawing the bears jowls and whiskers.
